Role Summary:
We are seeking a Chartered Planner with a minimum of five years of experience, including some consulting experience and ideally some experience with energy and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive grasp of the planning process, be adept at project management, and have excellent communication skills. You will act as a project lead, managing major TCPA and DNS planning applications, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead on significant planning applications, delegating tasks to colleagues at all levels and ensuring timely delivery with minimal supervision.
- Strategic Oversight: Formulate planning strategies, identify planning issues, and provide innovative solutions to meet client goals.
- Client Interaction: Represent Lighthouse at client meetings, project briefings, and community engagement events.
- Leadership: Chair internal project meetings, mentor junior colleagues, and oversee the quality of work produced by your team.
- Written Communication: Produce high-quality written work requiring minimal editing for non-critical documents; oversee critical written deliverables with senior input as needed.
- Networking and Business Development: Build and expand professional networks, represent Lighthouse at external events, and identify new business opportunities.
- Workload Management: Ensure effective workload distribution within the team, maintaining productivity and raising any issues with senior colleagues.
Skills & Attributes:
- Extensive understanding of the planning process.
- Experience managing complex projects independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
